SENIOR FOOTBALL
Our senior footballers have already gone further than ever before and this Sunday take part in our first ever senior county final. Standing in our way will be Clonmel Commercials. Throw-in at Semple Stadium is 3:15pm. Tickets can be bought online at https://embed.futureticketing.ie/c/tipperary-gaa/ and will also be available to purchase at the stadium on the day. The game will also be streamed by Tipp GAA at https://page.inplayer.com/TipperaryGAA/ for €10. The intermediate football final between Mullinahone & Ballina will precede the senior game at 1pm. The parish will be out in force to support on Sunday.
SENIOR HURLING
Commiserations to our senior hurlers who exited the county championship at the semi final stage against Kilruane MacDonaghs last weekend. In horrible weather conditions it was Kilruane who settled quickest and a 12th minute goal saw them open a 5 point advantage. A fine Jack Butler goal reduced the arrears for Upperchurch but Kilruane raised their own green flag just before the break to keep their 5 point lead at half time. Despite a fierce challenge in the second half Kilruane were able to maintain the gap and held on for a 6 point victory 2-17 to 1-14. Despite the result there are plenty of positives to take from the year including a Cahill Cup victory and reaching our first county semi final in 13 years. Thanks to Liam Dunphy, James McGrath, the selectors, backroom team and players for their efforts throughout the season.
JUNIOR HURLING
The junior hurlers pulled off a convincing win over Moyle Rovers last weekend in the junior A semi finals to ensure a 2nd county final for the adult club this year. Goals from Loughlin Ryan & Conor Fahey in the first quarter set the tone as we raced into a large lead. Moyle wouldn't be shaken easily though and they clawed this back to leave 5 in it at half time. It was all one way traffic in the 2nd half as we outscored them 2-9 to 1-4 with the goals coming from Tom Purcell & Pakie Bourke. Hopefully the good run can continue when they face Grangmockler-Ballyneale in the county final on Saturday 22nd at 2:30pm in Golden.
JUNIOR FOOTBALL
Best of luck to our junior footballers who play Cappawhite in the junior B county quarter final tomorrow(Saturday) at 1pm in Dundrum. Tickets for this game can be bought at https://embed.futureticketing.ie/c/tipperary-gaa/ and there will also be tap & go on the gate.
UNDER 15 HURLING
Well done to our U15 hurlers who defeated Drom & Inch last weekend to claim the mid title. They are back out in action tomorrow(Saturday) at 12pm in the county semi final when they face Killenaule in Gortnahoe.
