In 2009 Upperchurch Drombane GAA Club released this DVD to celebrate 125 years of the GAA in a rural GAA club in Tipperary, Ireland. Several of the people who feature in this DVD have since gone to their eternal reward. As DVD can no longer be purchased we have decided to share it with the wider community so people can appreciate what the GAA means to a small rural club in Ireland. You can watch this fantastic production here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhIu6zRgj1s&feature=youtu.be
The Parish of Upperchurch Drombane nestles among the eastern slopes of the Slieve Felim Hills in the heart of Tiipperary. Since the foundation of the GAA only a few miles from this Parish boundary this small rural club has remained true to the ideals of the associations founding fathers. Our story is not one of countless glories or spectacular triumphs. What success we have has been cherished and celebrated in true 'Church style, but our story is one of perseverance and unfailing enthusiasm , sometimes controversy, oftentimes unbridled joy but always pride in the 'Black and Amber'.
