Just one week out from Christmas it is great to still be involved in championship hurling and we make the trip on Sunday to O'Moore Park Portlaoise to take on Danesfort in the All-Ireland Intermediate semi final. It will be a tough contest against the Kilkenny & Leinster champions but the team is more than up to the job, and the prize of an All Ireland final in Croke Park awaits the winner. Throw-in is at 2pm on Sunday and we encourage all our supporters to make the trip to make the best atmosphere possible for the team. Our U21 hurlers will meet Drom & Inch in the mid final at a date to be decided. Drom have been nominated to represent the mid in this weekend's county semi finals.

Our club AGM was held on December 5th with the following officers elected for 2026. President: Phil Lowry, Chairman: Jim Ryan, Vice Chairman: Kaye Ryan, Secretary: Noelette Corbett, Assistant Secretary: Sinead Corcoran, Treasurer: Richard Ryan, Assistant Treasurer: Tim Ryan, Communications Officer: Martin Bourke, IT Officer: Ailbe O'Donoghue, Registrar: Paul Shanahan, Irish Language & Cultural Officer: Pat Phelan, Mid Board Rep: Michael Griffin, County Board Rep: Jim Ryan.

Congratulations to our U17 footballers who kept the feel good factor going in the parish and brought home the county minor B title last weekend with a good win over Kiladangan. Well done to players and mentors
UPPERCHURCH CHRISTMAS NIGHT WALK
This year's Christmas Night Walk will now take place on Monday 22nd December at 6:30pm. Registration from 6pm in Upperchurch Community Centre. In lieu of a registration charge patrons are being asked for donations in support of St Vincent De Paul and the Upperchurch Childcare Centre/Creche. The route will be the Moher road walk which is approx 7km. Refreshments and Christmas carols in the Community Centre after the walk. The committee would be very grateful for any baked goods which can be handed in before the walk.

It's now less than 2 weeks to our Annual Moher Hill 7km run & walk which will take place on Saturday 28th December. This year's chosen charity is the local branch of St Vincent De Paul with all proceeds raised going directly to them so please come and support the event. Starting at Upperchurch Hall, walkers will leave at 12pm with the runners hitting the course at 12:15pm. Entry is €10 for adults and kids are free. If you can't make it in person you can also donate online at www.gofundme.com/moher-hill-7k-2025
