CAHILL CUP
Our senior hurlers will take on Moycarkey-Borris this evening(Tuesday) in the Cahill Cup quarter finals. The game is in Drombane and throw-in at 7pm. Please note that there is a charge for this game and you will need to pay via Tap n Go at the gate. No cash will be accepted. The game will also be streamed live on Clubber for those unable to attend.

COUNTY HURLING LEAGUE
We faced Carrick Swans in our final county league Div 1 game last Sunday in Drombane. Fielding a much changed team there was little between the sides in the opening quarter and we trailed by just three points before Swans netted the games opening goal in the 25th minute. They added further points to lead by 8 at the break. A quick burst of 5 points from the South side to begin the second half saw them stretch their advantage to 13. However, to our lads credit, facing a near full strength Swans side, they stuck to their task and fought to the end. Final score was 2-23 to 0-17 in favour of Carrick Swan.

MID HURLING LEAGUE

Our junior A side were narrowly defeated by JK Brackens in their final Mid JHL Div 1 game on May 1st in Templemore. The sides matched each other point for point till Brackens struck the net in the 10th minute to move 1-6 to 0-6 ahead. Upperchurch gradually ate into this lead and there was just a point between the sides at the interval. Brackens scored the opening three points of the second half but over the next 6 minutes it was Upperchurch who outscored the Templemore side 6 points to 1 to pull one ahead. This was extended when Loughlin Ryan finished to the net in the 14th minute. JK Brackens responded to level matters again with the next 4 points. It appeared Upperchurch were breaking for home when they pulled 2 clear with 7 minutes remaining but it was Brackens who were more clinical and claimed the final 4 points to win by 2 (1-25 to 1-23). Both sides will meet each other again in the Div 1 semi final and currently this game is scheduled for Friday May 22nd in Templemore at 7:15pm. Our junior C are also in the knockout stages in the mid JHL Div 3 and play Knock next Sunday(17th) evening in Clonmore at 5:30pm

GOLF CLASSIC

Upperchurch Drombane GAA club will hold their 24th Annual Golf Classic on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th of July, in Ballykisteen Golf Club. Entry for a team of four costs €220 and includes a round of golf, barbecue mid round and a meal afterwards. Excellent prizes are on offer. INTERCOUNTY HURLING
We had a number of players representing the county in the past week. Sean Griffin lined out at midfield for the Tipperary u20 footballers in their agonising penalty defeat to Sligo in the All Ireland U20B semi final last Sunday. Paddy Ryan was also on the Tipperary minor panel which took on Longford in the All Ireland preliminary quarter final. Best of luck to Keith Ryan and the Tipperary senior hurlers as they take on Clare this Saturday evening.

RICE CUP

Congratulations to Daniel O'Brien, Jim Ryan Patsy, Noah Hackett and Tadhg Corcoran who were part of the Thurles CBS panel who defeated Midleton CBS in the Rice Cup final.

There were 3 lucky dip winners who received €50 each. The jackpot for next week now resets to €5,200 for next week's draw. Tickets must be bought by 8pm on Tuesday to be in the draw.
